A couple of days ago the topic of all blacks look the same came up. This subject is somewhat touchy for me because i went to a school my whole life that consisted of different types of groups. A lot of the guys my friends and i hung out with were black. They are most definitely not the same. So i made a point to tell that person who thinks they are the same my beliefs. I asked him how many black people went to his school and he said none. I asked him how many black people he has ever talked to and he said very few. How could he judge a group of people that he has not been around? He cant. He has never been able to actually look at blacks face to face and have a full on conversation with him. This is not his fault by any means because it was just the life he grew up in. But therefore he should not judge.

i have been playing soccer since i was 5 years old. I have never been the best one on my team but i was never the worst. I was an “inbetweenie.” However, i was never able to stay on the same team for over 2 seasons because i was older for my age and had to always play up in the division. My senior year i played with a team called indy burn. They were intimidating at first because these girls had been playing soccer with each other since they were 8. They all knew each other and their personal lives and knew how each other played on the field. When i was introduced to the team, you better believe it was one of the most nerve racking experiences of my life. I felt as if they judged me right away but that was not the case at all. The girls were very friendly but it took time over the course of the season to get to know me. At tournaments you could definitely tell the team was split up into groups, some getting a a long better with others. I was never part of any of these groups, i was just friends with all of them but i still felt weird hanging out with those girls who had a lot of inside jokes even though they tried to include me.

Overall, i did meet a great group of girls, some of which i am still friends with today. But it was difficult to get to know them at first because im a shy person when i first meet people

Multimodel Project

I believe our next project should be 5 to 10 minutes long. I like this idea because it gives a wide range of how long or how little someone wants their project to be. Another reason why i feel this project shouldnt be too long because most of us this is the first time using movie maker. We should not be required to do a lot of work for something we are brand new to. Personally, i am excited to do this project because i like trying new things and if i like movie maker the first time i use it, i may want to use it in other classes in the future.

I feel like this project is going to need a lot of patience and time, hopefully my hard work pays off.

Sore out of my mind

Ever since i have come to college, working out has not been my top priority. I am a very busy nursing student and it seems like i am almost always studying. However, on tuesday, a hall mate of my wanted me and my roommate to do a jillian michaels video with her and i figured why not?

In the beginning of the workout me and my roommate were laughing and did not think the video was going to be too difficult. The video ended up being around 50 minutes long and it was nonstop working out. It consisted lunges, squats (which i have extreme hate for), abs, arms, and buttocks. At the end of the work out i for sure got my ass kicked my jillian michaels because i could not move a bone or muscle in my body. Our smiles quickly turned to tears and i was in so much pain that i had to waddle every where i went.

I am not as sore today because i ran yesterday. I heard when your sore that doing more work outs actually decreases the pain being experienced. I am doing another work out tonight so lets hope this one is a little better!

Best Halloween Yet

So me and seven of my girlfriends decided to be creative and make costumes this year for Halloween. As poor college students, another factor in making our costumes was because it was cheap… exactly $10.

So what is ours amazing costume you might ask? Its ninja turtles!! HIYAAA!

We do understand their is actually only 4 ninja turtles in real life, but we decided to be even more creative and do every color of the rainbow. Personally, i am a aqua-blueish color.

Last night, we all got together and made our costumes. Unfortunately, i have some pretty uncrafty friends so it took a lot longer than expected. It took us over 3 hours to cut out our wristbands, eye mask, and other accessories, plus make our muscular t-shirts. It was all worth it though! our costumes look awesomely awesome! I can not wait until i get to use my high kicks on people. We are wearing these costumes on friday for our friends party, actually its our friends party and then their neighbors are having a party so its kind of all combined.

The only downside about friday is that i have extra credit in psych i need to attend at 5 o’clock but you best believe i am racing out of there as soon as i am done and going to get my party on.

Best Halloween right?

celery and cream cheese

Over five years ago, i went over to my best friend, Shannon’s house for dinner. The Connelly’s are Irish and tend to eat food that i do not prefer to eat on a regular basis. Also, i used to be a really picky eater and did not eat food i was not familiar with. But when i saw celery and cream cheese and decided to try it anyway because i like both celery and cream cheese. I soon figured out that the taste of both made me gag bigger than anything. Out of politeness i snook enter the nearest bathroom and disposed of the celery and cream cheese from my mouth. I think the major reason why i did not like it was because it had way too much cream cheese. Still to this day, i only put cream cheese on my bagel and when i do i do not load it on. At least i tried something different right?

The topic for my assessment paper is eating disorders. If thousands of people were to discover they had the same problem in lets say, eating disorders, a completely different story would come about. When writing a story, it is usually based on one author’s perspective. They write their opinion about the topic, state facts, etc. If this author were to meet with other authors, they gain more perspectives then what they originally had. They gain a lot more information that they might not have thought of before. The new story will most likely be longer because of the large amounts of new information combined with the old.

Brain to the Storming

I am not one hundred percent sure what i am going to write about in this position paper. I want to make certain i am fully interested in the topic since we are writing about in in this paper and in a multimodal project. However, i do have a few ideas. I could write on the rain forest, eating disorders, or plastic surgery.

If i wrote about the rainforest, i would discuss how the rainforest needs to be conserved and not destroyed. There are many different kinds of animals that live in the rainforest. That is there home. What is the point in destroying an animal’s home when i know no humans would ever be ok with there homes being destroyed

If i wrote about eating disorders, i would write about how against them i am. I personally, used to have trouble with my weight and i regret it extremely. God created us to be who we are and we should be happy with the body we are given.

If i were to write about plastic surgery, i would discuss how i am against them. If feel like it is completely unnecessary to change your features unless it is medically needed. Whats the point in getting a better face or bigger boobs? Most likely, the opposite sex would be more interested in a pretty face or bigger boobs than who someone is on the inside.

SNOB

The propaganda poster is conveying that Obama is a snob. The picture if him clearly portrays him as being a snob because his head is held high and is overly proud of himself. The wording underneath SNOB says “its an elitist thing, you wouldn’t understand.” That wording just seems straight rude and Obama is saying he is somewhat better than everyone else because we don’t know what it is like to be an elitist. I personally am extremely proud not to be an elitist. I feel as if it is nothing you should be proud of. I do not think Obama is 100% a snob but just has done snob-like actions.

This poster is all Republican. Since i am a proud Republican, i enjoy this propaganda poster. Although i like Obama as a person, i don’t like him as much as a president. The poster has red, white, and blue all in it resembling the United States. I do not think the United States should be represented as a SNOB just because of one person.

I believe this statement is pretty accurate. Women seemed to have always been looked down upon when being compared to men. Men have been said to be better than women. I believe that is complete and utter bull crap. However, that is what most people believe and it makes it harder for us women to prove ourselves. Since that stereotype is common, we have to try at almost everything we do just to prove that stereotype wrong. What men do not realize is that we are strong women. Maybe not always physically strong but mentally. Whenever a man puts down a women, that women tends to gain confidence in herself. Although men and women are equal, women need as much confidence in themselves in order to succeed. This confidence leads to us going above and beyond what men may never do.

Anything a man can do, a women can do better. When it comes to being successful in a job, women have to step up there game. We have to do our job and do it to its full potential. When that full potential is accomplished, success is achieved.
